State Overtime Pay Laws – 2014 Labor Law Resource

Overtime pay is premium wages paid to a worker who has worked in excess of an applicable overtime limit, generally 40 hours per week. Non-exempt workers are required to be paid overtime for all overtime hours worked by both federal and state overtime law.

OvertimeLaws.org provides a directory of state and federal overtime statutes including overtime pay rates, exemptions to overtime in state and federal law, local information on unpaid overtime claims and other legal issues, and a description of state-specific overtime laws for each state.

Choose your state from the table below for an overtime law factsheet, overtime calculator, and other relevant information on your state’s overtime and labor laws.
